Job Title: SOMC Regional Vice President
General Purpose
The Regional Vice President will be in charge of sophisticated food processing facilities spread across various nations. Responsibilities will include providing leadership to develop and grow the business, achieving profitability through the implementation of a strategic plan based on cross-functional collaborative efforts, detailed analysis, and critical thought; and developing a strategic business plan for growth that includes annual and long-term goals, objectives, budgets, and targets with key performance indicators.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the General Managers and other key senior executives in the creation and execution of their short- and long-term strategies.
- Propose and carry out strategic business plans for the affiliates.
- Give advice on new product development, innovation, and other high-level commercial decisions.
- Assist in the creation of new strategic distribution techniques and market pathways for all products.
- Oversee branch offices, manufacturing, and distribution facilities to guarantee efficiency, control, and income maximization.
- Manage and develop the management team in preparation for new prospects and professional growth. The scope of work will involve identifying future leaders within the existing management group, as well as assisting in the development of peer review methods and employee/executive training programs. Budgets for cost and profit centers are reviewed and approved.
- Control costs and maximize profit margins.
- Examine management reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Review and approve weekly/monthly financial reports; examine income and cash flow estimates.
- Maintain a culture of continual development by fostering new ideas, sharing best practices (both locally and regionally), and emphasizing open communication.
- Ensure that all legal and compliance issues are addressed proactively in collaboration with company legal counsel and retained counsel to safeguard the company and its assets.
- Understand affiliate employee relations, such as collective bargaining discussions, structuring, disciplinary procedures, and recruitment.
- Provide direction and assistance with Corporate Social Responsibility projects.
- As needed, go to other industrial operations.

Education and Work Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required.
- 10+ years of managerial experience in industrial operations or manufacturing, ideally in flour milling or a related business
- Knowledge of agricultural commodities markets is necessary.
- Management experience in developing-country commercial, industrial, or logistical enterprises.
- Food distribution experience is preferred.
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities are essential.
- Ability to communicate successfully with individuals at all levels is necessary.
- Experience battling theft and fraud in poor countries is necessary.
- French fluency is necessary.
Working Conditions/Environment
- You must be in decent physical condition.
- Travel outside of major countries for conferences and business meetings as needed.
- Capable of functioning in complex and challenging work environments/difficult locales.
