POSITION: Head of Medical & Performance
Right to Dream Academy is looking for a skilled and driven person to be in charge of our International Academy squad’s Medical and Performance projects. Right to Dream is the best football school in Africa. It is also a global brand that represents academies in Egypt, Denmark (FC Nordsjaelland), and the U.S. (San Diego FC).
In our long-term player development plan, the person we choose will work across the continuum of reducing injury risk, rehabilitating players, and improving their performance. We need a trainer who is good at diagnosing injuries, helping them get better, and managing them on the sidelines.
Also, we want someone with experience and knowledge of the physical performance parts of the job (training periodization, gym programming, GPS data, and individualized physical development programming). The job requires a lot of travel to help with the International Academy’s tours and events all year long.
Key Competencies Required:
- Needs a Master’s degree in physiotherapy or physical therapy,
- work experience in a football setting, the ability to work as part of a team,
- to be highly motivated and able to change, and to be able to think on his or her feet in a tough situation.
Ideal Qualifications
- Strength and fitness and/or sports science background and experience;
- Work experience with young athletes;
- Data collection and testing experience;
- Communicating with coaches and technical staff experience
Duties and responsibilities:
Work in a team setting with our Human Performance Group; take care of the medical and physical needs of the International Academy squad; make decisions based on data to make sure all athletes get the best care possible.
MEDICAL:
- Coverage for training and games
- Diagnosing players’ illnesses, helping them get better, and getting them back on the field
- Talk with the coaching team about who can train and how bad an injury is.
PHYSICAL:
- Collect, analyze, and report GPS data;
- help coaches plan training and games;
- lead team gym and physical individual development classes;
- support data collection projects in line with the Human Performance Group.
