POSITION: Enterprise Architect
Job Description
Enterprise Architecture serves as a foundation for any investment in technological solutions. As a result, enterprise architects are expected to be abreast of technological and business trends in order to provide advice.
They are also expected to guarantee that technology investment is done in a coherent and focused manner that is aligned with the organization’s goal. This results in improved business processes, streamlined technological components, reusability of capabilities, and cost savings.
Enterprise architects help oversee the IT landscape while facilitating the delivery of business value through technology by ensuring adequate architecture governance.
- Recommends and participates in actions related to the Enterprise Architecture’s design, development, and maintenance.
- Recommends and helps establish and implement standards, tools, and procedures.
- Contributes to the development and implementation of IT service management standards, tools, and processes.
- Assists in the management, implementation, and upkeep of IT and technology architecture models.
- Architect artifacts are created and maintained using relevant EA tools and frameworks.
- Collaborates with all relevant parties to examine the aims and restrictions of new solutions, as well as their compliance with EA principles.
- Assists in the research of solutions for technical and business concerns.
- Shares best practices and lessons learned, and regularly changes technical system architectural requirements in response to evolving technologies, emerging vendor products, and solutions.
- Assists in the implementation of the IT/technology architecture work development plan.
- Recommends and helps generate architecture blueprints for associated systems.
Controls the management and upkeep of IT/technology architectures.
- Versatility demonstrated across numerous technologies and applications
- Capability to positively impact system and technology design
- Capability to portray systems with high-quality architectural artifacts and models
Create EA artifacts such as system architectures, sequence diagrams, and so on for diverse endeavors.
- Submit a weekly matrix displaying the many initiatives currently undergoing the Design Coordination Process.
- Participate in the monthly EA Report
- Keep the Enterprise Architecture repository up-to-date.
Background/Experience
- Obtain a bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field of study.
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in large-scale software development, hardware engineering, and/or enterprise/solution architecture and/or implementation.
- Well-versed in cutting-edge architectural modeling, service-oriented architecture, and software design and development techniques.
- Excellent understanding of the banking business, products, and trends
- Extensive expertise in software or infrastructure planning and operations, design and implementation, and system life cycle management is required.
- Excellent understanding of current and new technologies, as well as technological trends in the financial industry
- Expertise in business operations and processes
- The ability to translate corporate strategy into architectural designs in order to influence the technology roadmap
Job-Specific Abilities
- Leadership in technology is combined with business savvy.
- Ability to comprehend the business strategy and roadmap.
- MS VISIO advanced expertise is necessary.
- Certification in TOGAF, ARCHIMATE, COBIT, and ITIL is a plus.
- Good people management abilities with a track record of driving success through others.
- The ability to interact with senior-level executives inside the organization
- Strong interpersonal abilities, as well as the capacity to influence and negotiate.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver outcomes under tight timeframes
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to explain technical solutions in business terms, develop relationships, and persuade people, are required.
- English or French fluency is required. A decent working understanding of the second language is a plus.
