ROLE: Billing & Collection Officer
JOB PURPOSE
The main job of the Billing & Recovery Officer is to put the technology service agreement (TSA) into action by billing affiliates for cards and technology services and helping to recover receivables from affiliates.
This can be done by working closely with business units to get correct billing information and make sure that the invoices use the approved pricing.
The Billing and Recovery Officer is also in charge of managing accounts receivable and giving important information to business units, the supervisor, and the CFO through reports on outstanding receivables, collection status, revenue budget, etc.
CONTEXT OF THE JOB
- To work closely with business units to get correct information about billing.
- To give the CFO and the Business Units the most important information.
- To work closely with eProcess Operation so that financial entries can be processed.
External
To answer questions, give explanations, or settle disputes from affiliates about billing and financial reconciliation. To work with Group Finance to make sure that key reports are made and that the group’s intercompany accounting is done.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To send invoices to Ecobank Affiliates for IT and card-related services supplied by eProcess in accordance with the Technology Service Agreement (TSA), as well as invoices for funding Group Technology Projects.
- Solve Problems with agents
- To handle accounting tasks for eProcess receivable accounts (accounting records, analysis, reconciliation, and proofreading).
Intercompany reconciliations are done by the Group with Ecobank Affiliates. - The collection of debts and the resolution of disagreements.
- To report on what’s been done. (Billing summary, Outstanding receivable reports, collecting status…).
- To help update the eProcess revenues budget form, which will then be sent to affiliates.
- To help the Senior Business Planner and CFO with anything else they need help with.
JOB PROFILE
Experience and Credentials
At least two years of work experience in a financial setting.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance and Accounting or a related area.
Skills, skills, and clear traits
- Communication and getting along with others.
- Focused on results.
- Good IT skills and computer skills.
- Very good at figuring things out.
- Attention to detail.
- Bilingual in both English and French).
- It’s easy to work with numbers.
- Capable of working on very difficult topics.
- Very good skills with Microsoft Excel
