JSI is looking for a Senior Immunisation Consultant to help with the design, execution, and monitoring of the essential components of the above-mentioned core activities.
Principal Responsibilities
Among the specific responsibilities are, but are not limited to:
- The consultant will be expected to collaborate closely with the JSI Team on the following tasks:
- Initial consultation with GHS/EPI and the Regional Health Directorate to ensure that these major GHS agencies understand the project concept and methodology.
- Organize orientation for the district health teams in the three districts to achieve consensus on the activities and create a timeframe for implementation.
- Conduct a mapping of high-flow health facilities in the three districts to integrate COVID-19 activities into normal services.
- Organize a regional workshop to lead the creation of integrated service delivery plans that target key or priority adult groups; the consultant will strive to ensure that plans are driven by community feedback and strategies. improve overall community engagement
- Contribute to the creation of integrated digital microplans for the delivery of integrated services.
- Help organize quarterly review activities and document the results
- Conduct quarterly site inspections at chosen project sites and prepare reports
- In partnership with EPI, document and organize a workshop on project lessons learned.
- Encourage the incorporation of HCD into the digital microplanning process, which includes CSOs and community people.
- Train and assist district teams in carrying out supportive supervision and monitoring of integrated service delivery.
- Participate in regional data quality review sessions.
- Assist districts in organizing quarterly review sessions to share experiences and document results.
Deliverables:
- Report on health facility mapping for the identification of high-flowing health facilities
- Design of a district-level road map for activity execution in all three districts
- A well-defined work plan to guide district-level implementation initiatives.
- Creating activity and quarterly process reports that highlight accomplishments, problems, and lessons learned.
- Facilitation and assistance in developing training plans for health workers and CSOs
- Contribution to project documentation and assistance in organizing dissemination meetings.
- Prepare and submit expenditure reports for all tasks carried out on time;
- Participate in any other team activities that may be required.
Required Qualifications or Experience
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in public health, social work, international development, or a related discipline is required.
- 10 years of experience in the health or development industries is required.
- Excellent design and facilitation abilities, as well as previous experience with human-centered design workshops
- Experience in incorporating COVID-19 into immunization at the subnational level in low-resource health settings
- Expertise in community engagement and techniques for ensuring community-centered programming
- Delivering technical help or consulting services to social entrepreneurs, innovators, and mission-driven multinational organizations requires a high level of inventiveness, agility, and skill.
- Ability to collaborate across teams, operate under pressure, and demonstrate initiative and flexibility
- Worked with a diverse range of stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health, partners, and frontline healthcare professionals.
- Proficiency in English and any Ghanaian language(s) is required.
- Interpersonal communication abilities that are second to none are essential to connecting effectively with end users and participants, as well as senior project leadership and partners.
