Harley Reed is a professional services organization operating in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa. Whilst the business offers a diverse offering, a large portion of this role will be supporting the knowledge services area of the business which focuses on competency assessment, skills development, and professional education. This role is based in Ghana.
Now based in 6 countries, Harley Reed intends to further expand across the European, African, and Middle East markets to offer a broad range of integrated professional services.
Job Purposes
The Business Development Manager will work to improve Harley Reed’s market position and achieve financial growth. The person will work toward meeting long-term organizational strategic goals, build key customer and industry relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions across the service lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contacting potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings.
- Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives.
- Researching organizations and individuals to find new opportunities.
- Increasing the value of current customers while attracting new ones.
- Finding and developing new markets and improving sales.
- Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events.
- Developing quotes and proposals for clients.
- Developing goals for the development team and business growth and ensuring they are met.
- Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills.
Education
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree (preferably in business, marketing or similar).
- An MBA will be an added advantage,
Experience
- 5 years working experience, 3-5 years of which is a sales, marketing, business development or client engagement field.
- Networking, Persuasion, Public Speaking, Research, Writing, Closing Skills, Motivation for Sales, Prospecting Skills, Sales Planning, Identification of Customer Needs and Challenges, Territory Management, Market Knowledge, Meeting Sales Goals, Professionalism, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent rapport building and presentation skills
