ROLE: Organisers

Principal Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for the following duties:

• Educate health and care workers about their workplace rights and how to build and exercise collective power to improve pay, working conditions, gender equality, and sector policies
• Build active and sustainable organising structures that contribute to the Union’s objectives
• Create and work to organize plans to ensure membership growth, member leadership and action, and winning industry power

Qualifications and Experience Required

Successful candidates should have the following qualifications:

• Passion and drive to improve workers’ lives and achieve project goals
• Good communication, messaging, and rapport building skills
• Ability to develop members, including motivating and educating others
• Willingness and ability to learn, adapt, and possess problem solving skills
• Ability to plan and organize work and achieve outcomes
• Ability and willingness to work long and irregular hours

Preferable, but jot down necessities

• Union or related field organizing and campaigning experience
• Previous experience as a union member, activist, or leader

Perks

Successful candidates will be provided a good salary and benefits package.

Contract term: two years full-time (40 hours per week on average, plus days as needed), with a six-month trial period. The contract will be revised annually for the duration of the project.

Accra is the location.
