POSITION: Legal Officer
Purpose
To provide advisory legal support to the credit approval and relationship functions in negotiating credit terms and conditions, as well as obtaining signatures and completion of relevant facility documentation from customers. Nationally resolving client and departmental questions about facility letters, loan agreements, security sharing agreements, inter-creditor, and common terms agreements.
Responsibilities
- Manage costs and expenses within the agreed budget to generate cost savings.
- Provide great service that exceeds clients’ expectations.
- Exceed expectations by providing proactive, imaginative, and timely solutions.
- Comply with governance obligations in terms of legislation and auditing.
- Consultative legal support is provided to the credit approval and relationship functions in negotiating credit terms and conditions and obtaining signatures and completion of needed facility documentation from clients.
- Assist and liaise with clients and attorneys on day-to-day matters concerning the Bank’s corporate clients’ facilities.
- Nationally resolved customer and departmental inquiries about facility letters, loan agreements, security sharing agreements, inter-creditor, and common terms agreements.
- Provision of timely, relevant, and trustworthy legal information for decision-making in order to maximize profitability and reduce risk
- Manage one’s own development in order to improve one’s own abilities.
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum requirements: A qualified lawyer who has been admitted to the Ghana Bar
- 2-4 years’ experience at the Ghana Bar is required.
