Job Opportunity at Buck Press Ltd
Buck Press Ltd, a business in Ofankor that does security printing, is looking for a Printing Machine Operator. The perfect individual should be able to run at least two Heidelberg Speed Master printing machines without much or any help.
Job Purpose
It is their job to set up, run, and take care of printing tools correctly so that they work well and produce more. Following strict rules about safety and quality to meet daily production goals.
Responsibilities/ Duties
- Monitor automatic press operation systems (CPTronic and CPC) and act on fault, error, or alert messages.
- Help trainees learn.
- Find and fix small problems with the machine.
- Should be able to find and fix small problems with the machine.
- Having the ability to work with little help.
- Find or mix inks, fill ink fountains, and change the flow rates of ink fountains.
- Fix the tolerances and attach the printing plates to the printing tools.
- Start the presses and pull out proofs to check the coverage and depth of the ink, as well as the alignment and registration.
- When a press run is done, clean the ink streams, plates, or printing unit cylinders.
- Feed paper through the cylinders of the press. Adjust the feed based on the size of the paper and the tension controls.
- Check to see if the paper and ink are good enough for the job.
- Control or keep an eye on what Machine Apprentices are doing.
- Keep track of time and work done.
- Check the stock levels on a regular basis and buy or ask for more supplies as needed. Make sure all records (Output, Quality checks, Handing over, Fault reporting, etc.) are up to date.
- The person in charge of keeping the machine and the area around it clean.
- Must make sure and keep the Machine Operators and Apprentices in line.
- Any other job that the boss gives you.

Qualifications
- NVTI or the similar.
- Experience running Heidelberg Speed Master machines.
Skills and Work History
- At least five years of practice running at least two printing machines
- Having the ability to work with little guidance
- Quality Control Analysis: The ability to test and inspect goods, services, or processes to figure out how well they work or how good they are.
- Reading comprehension is the ability to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work-related papers.
- Monitoring: Being able to keep an eye on your own work and that of other Machine Apprentices.
- Active listening means giving someone your full attention and taking the time to understand what they are saying without interrupting at the wrong times.
- Critical thinking is the ability to use logic to figure out the pros and cons of different answers, conclusions, or ways of approaching a problem.
- Judgment and decision making is the ability to weigh the costs and benefits of different activities and pick the best one.
- Managing one’s own time and the time of other Machine Apprentices is called “time management.”
- Good at getting along with people and working under pressure.
