ROLE: HR Coordinator
About the company:
We are a new company for cancer study that is based in Accra, Ghana. Also, We use cutting-edge immunogenomics, nanotechnology, bioinformatics, and artificial intelligence to speed up the development of cancer detection and treatment methods, with the end goal of lowering the economic burden of cancer on the African continent.
We want a full-time HR Coordinator who is highly driven and pays close attention to details. This position is a unique chance to help our organization reach its goals and achieve its results while also getting useful experience in the biotech industry.
Position Summary:
As HR Coordinator, your main job will be to help set up and implement HR policies and procedures to make sure that our organization runs smoothly and effectively. You will work closely with the Director of Operations and other team members to implement the best global HR practices, do a variety of HR administrative tasks, and give our local and foreign employees the best HR support possible.
Responsibilities:
- Help create and implement HR policies and procedures, making sure they are in line with best practices in the industry and the laws of the countries where our workers live.
- Help the group create and run an internship program.
- Work with the Director of Operations to make and update job descriptions. Make sure they accurately describe the skills and responsibilities needed for each post.
- Prepare offer letters, run orientation meetings, and make sure all the necessary paperwork is done for new hires.
- Keep accurate and private employee records, such as salary, personal information, leaves, enrollment in benefits, and other important paperwork.
- Help coordinate performance management processes, such as setting goals, doing performance reviews, and making plans to improve performance.
- Respond to questions from both inside and outside the company about HR policies, processes, and benefits in a timely and accurate way.
- Help with the hiring process by organizing job postings, reading resumes, setting up interviews, and helping to screen and choose candidates.
- Help plan ways to get employees involved, like team-building exercises, social events, and programs to recognize employees.
- Work with teams from different departments to help HR-related projects, such as training and development and employee health and fitness projects.
- Do a study on HR trends and regulations, keeping up with the latest changes in HR practices and suggesting ways to make things better.
- Make and turn in notes on general HR work and help with HR projects on the spot, like collecting employee feedback.
- Help with other tasks as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equal experience; additional training in Human Resource Management is a plus.
- At least seven years of proven work as an HR coordinator or in a similar human resources job.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, processes, and the best ways to do things.
- Knowledge of local and foreign laws and rules about work.
- Having knowledge of HR databases and HRIS tools is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as the ability to handle various tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, as well as the ability to talk to workers at all levels of the company.
- Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (MS Office Suite) skills.
- Ability to keep sensitive staff information secret and handle it with professionalism and discretion.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-based setting.
- Self-motivated and aggressive, with a track record of being able to work alone and take the lead.
