POSITION: Information Technology Support Administrator
Overview:
The IT Support Administrator is in charge of providing technical help and support for all computer systems, hardware, software, networking infrastructure, and SCADA systems in the company’s oil jetty operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT-related issues and requests from oil jetty employees and operations people.
- Troubleshoot and resolve computer/network issues, software errors, hardware failures, connectivity problems, SCADA system errors, etc. in a timely fashion.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain the SCADA software, HMI applications, and related control systems.
- Monitor and improve the performance of SCADA systems for oil jetty operations.
- Provide training to operations workers on how to use SCADA systems and HMI applications
- Install, configure, and upgrade computer systems, peripherals, operating systems, and software programs.
- Maintain network security by monitoring activities, adopting security protocols, and managing cybersecurity incidents.
- Provide IT orientation and training for new workers on systems, software, and business IT regulations.
- Manage the IT asset inventory and keep correct records of hardware/software licences and warranties.
- Create and manage technical documents, manuals, and knowledge base articles.
- Assist in designing and implementing new IT initiatives, system upgrades, and process enhancements.
- Coordinate with external IT vendors/service providers for support, maintenance, and procurement as needed.
Qualifications:
- Ensure compliance with IT rules, standards, and regulations in the oil/gas business.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline; or comparable work experience.
- 2–4 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, systems administration, or SCADA technician positions.
- Excellent technical knowledge of SCADA systems, HMIs, computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and common business applications.
- Experience with oil/gas sector applications and maritime operations is preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
- Proficient in communicating technical knowledge to non-technical users, with strong written and vocal communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation, with patience and a cheerful attitude.
