POSITION: Finance & Administration Manager

Job Description 

The Chartered Institute of Taxation, Ghana (CTTG), seeks a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as an Assistant Finance and Administration Manager. The Assistant Finance & Administration Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial management and administrative operations of the Institute.

The ideal candidate should possess strong financial acumen, excellent organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of financial management in the context of a tax-focused professional organization. She will work closely with the Registrar to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Institute’s finance and administrative functions.

Responsibilities of the Role

  • Make and handle the institute’s budget, which includes budget planning, forecasting, and keeping an eye on spending.
  • Oversee the financial operations, such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll financial reporting, and compliance with the institute’s and public sector covered organizations’ financial and policies.
  • Do financial analysis and give regular reports to the registrar on how the institute is doing financially.
  • Coordinate and work with external auditors and accountants for financial audits, tax filings, and other financial matters.
  • Create and implement effective financial controls, policies, and procedures to protect the asset and ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Lead the institute’s financial and accounting tasks; supervise staff, offer advice and support, and create a positive and productive work environment at the institute’s finance and accounting unit;
  • work with other departments to make sure that financial and administrative matters are well coordinated and communicated;
  • Keep up with the latest financial and administrative rules, best practices, and technology trends to make processes more efficient and effective.

Needed Qualifications and Experience

  • Preferably a member of the institute with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a similar field. A CITG membership with a Master’s degree in accounting or finance or membership in a professional accounting organization like the ICA, ACCA, CPA, or CMA will be a plus.
  • 3 to 5 years of proven experience in financial management, accounting, or a similar role, preferably in the tax industry or a professional association or similar institution.
  • Sound knowledge of financial management principles, practices, and regulations as they apply to covered entities.
  • Processed knowledge of procurement and related financial reporting and disclosure issues as they apply to covered entities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis; Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment; Proficiency in office productivity tools, such as the Microsoft Office suite;
  • Proven record of integrity, paying attention to details, listening, and meeting tight deadlines and reporting requirements.
