Music Producer Joshua Raphaelson, publicly known as Jam Master Jay (JMJ) holds the view that the Ghanaian female scene has become quiet lately though there is a good number of female artistes releasing hit songs every now and then.
The famous producer thinks that the existing female artistes in Ghana are not putting in the needed effort to promote or sell themselves and their music as Kaakie, Ebony and Mzvee did.
Speaking on Bryt TV yesterday, JMJ stated that during the time of Kaakie, the female music scene was fast growing and glowing. Mzvee and the late Ebony were not different. He told Mc Yaa Yeboah, the host that the three songstress salted and spiced up female music industry with their music back to back. According to him, these three ladies left the music industry with three big spots to fill. He believes that the moment they pulled their plugs, Ghana’s female music died because no other female artiste has been able to bring the female music scene back to life. Nonetheless, he appreciated the hard work of Noella Wiyaala and said she could be the only exception.
JMJ also talked about his latest album dubbed “Riddim of the GODS” which features over 30 ghanaian musicians. He explained to the ebony skinned host that he chose that tittle because he considers all the artiste featured on the album as gods in the entertainment sector. Sarkodie, Okyeame Kwame, Stoneboy, Adina just to mention a few are some of the artiste present on the album. The album in question has about 5 genres.
