Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is a non-profit organization established in the United States that works to identify and promote effective solutions to worldwide poverty. IPA collaborates with decision-makers to build, rigorously analyse, and modify these solutions and applications, ensuring that the evidence generated is used to increase chances for the world’s poor.

Job Description.

  • Reports to: the Project Development Manager.
  • Desired Start Date: May 9th, 2024
  • Duration: three months.
  • Duty Call Schedule: Twice a week.

IPA Ghana is looking for guiding and Coaching Coordinators with experience in occupational coaching, mentoring, guiding, and counselling on a temporary basis. IPA is particularly interested in candidates who are highly motivated and willing to train as occupational coaches. The primary objective is to pilot group-based resilience coaching sessions for teachers. This effort seeks to provide educators with the necessary skills to efficiently manage the enormous demands of their employment.

Responsibilities

  • Offer coaching, guidance, counselling, and support to a group of professionals.
  • Assist folks in completing tough and demanding activities.
  • Identify people who are experiencing unusual stress and burnout and may require specialized care.
  • Refer cases requiring specialist care to designated specialist units.
  • Provide a detailed sessional report for coaching sessions.
  • Complete any job-related responsibilities.

Required Skill or Experience

  • A master’s degree in General Psychology, Philosophy, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is desired.
  • A first degree in any of the allied fields, combined with sufficient practical knowledge and experience, is worth considering.
  • Being a master trainer in guidance and counseling is desirable, but not necessary.
  • Experience evaluating stress cases in a clinical context is desirable.
  • Experience in guidance and counselling in a school setting is desirable.
  • Clinical counselling experience is desirable, but not required.
  • Must have a pleasant personality and friendly demeanour.
  • Must be proficient in communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented and confidential.
