POSITION: Senior Sales Manager

Job Description Summary:

Responsible for Gas Power Services in Francophone Sub-Saharan Africa and Ghana sub-region. A customer-facing personnel is responsible for winning business. Owns and/or influences commercial business operating procedures, as well as budgets. Functional policy is used to guide decisions. The function provides autonomy in entering into/executing commercial arrangements. High levels of commercial judgment are necessary to get the desired results.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for selling products, services, parts, solutions, or projects inside the Franco-Ghana sub-region.
  • Expected to meet the allocated sales targets.
  • Develop commercial expertise for certain customers/countries, product lines, marketplaces, sales methods, or customer groups. Influences policies and guarantees delivery across vast, diverse sales areas.
  • Develops and executes proposal strategy and sales agreements.
  • Interprets internal and external company difficulties and suggests best practices for improving goods, processes, and services. Uses a grasp of industry trends to inform decision-making.
  • Makes technical and commercial presentations. Understands the environment in which the GEV products, solutions, and systems will be employed.
  • Leads people in developing innovative solutions to difficult projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, and customers. Has the ability to assess the quality of information received and to challenge conflicting data for analysis. Uses many internal and external resources outside of one’s function to assist conclusion.
  • Creates new prospects in Sub-Saharan Africa in partnership with the Gas Power Business
  • Development Team and the Market & Strategic Operations Team.
  • Collaborates with the Commercial Operations team and Customer Portfolio Managers to produce proposals, structure deals, set prices, and negotiate.
  • Establishes and maintains successful customer connections, ensuring that GEV is identified as a supplier by target customers.
  • May lead functional teams or projects with intermediate resource needs, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates complicated messages and mostly negotiates inwardly with others to accept a new point of view. Influences peers to take action and may engage in negotiations with external partners, vendors, and customers.
  • Uses lean approaches to improve the proposal process.

What will you bring?

  • This position requires extensive experience in Sales and Commercial portfolio management.
  • The knowledge level is equivalent to a Master’s degree from an authorized university.
