Exciting Career Opportunity at PEAS Ghana
POSITION: School Improvement Officer
Profile of Company
The non-profit PEAS (Promoting Equality in African Schools) promotes sustainable, high-quality secondary education in Africa. Secondary schools in Uganda and Zambia’s most distant and impoverished villages have been built and run by us since 2008. PEAS schools enrol underserved youngsters and provide a high-quality education that helps them live meaningful and socially responsible lives.
PEAS has gained first-hand experience running top secondary schools in Uganda and Zambia while creating our tools, teams and evidence over the past 14 years. We want to grow beyond PEAS’ two secondary school networks and operate in additional Sub-Saharan African countries that need quality secondary education. We want to cooperate with governments and respected education providers that provide quality secondary education to underprivileged groups in their nations.
About PEAS
The fast-growing non-profit PEAS (www.peas.org.uk) aims to ‘expand access to sustainably delivered quality secondary education across Africa’. We operate Africa’s fastest-growing sustainable secondary school network. PEAS is dedicated to providing quality, low-cost education to the poorest rural communities and replicating our approach.
Since March 2023, PEAS has collaborated with the Ministry of Education and Ghana Education Services to improve leadership and management in government schools in Lawra, Upper West, through the Enriching Basic Education in Laware (EBEL) programme. The EBE project works with primary and junior secondary school leaders and School Improvement Support Officers (SISOs) to improve leadership and management, teaching and learning, and safeguarding and child protection.
Our programme has good foundations, and we aim to expand it to more schools in Lawra and Ghana. We want to be models of quality education and strengthen the Ghanaian education system. We need a School Improvement Coordinator to help us achieve our goal.
