Job Description.

Ghana’s USAID-funded Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Platform is run by LINC. This Activity will provide USAID/Ghana staff, implementing partners, and local country stakeholders with expert monitoring, evaluation, and learning services and high-quality, demand-driven monitoring and evaluation technical assistance and analytical services to advance US foreign policy goals and USAID’s strategic objectives in Ghana.

The Deputy Chief of Party/Performance Monitoring Specialist will manage the project office, projects, and personnel daily, and provide major technical help to the Platform for monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities and deliverables. The Deputy Chief of Party/Performance Monitoring Specialist will assist the Chief of Party and ensure excellent technical delivery, including assessing and analysing USAID activities in Ghana and developing local staff, partners, and the Mission, its implementing partners, and technical offices.

Position Description:

The Multimedia Specialist will film, photograph, edit, and create visuals, illustrations, and audio products to highlight USAID initiatives and activities. Filming may occur in studios, USAID Implementing Partners’ offices, during events, or at other USAID project locations in Ghana. The worker must be able to manage many activities at the same time, work swiftly to meet conflicting deadlines, keep projects on track, and have a thorough awareness of Agency policy and procedures that he or she can apply into his or her work. The multimedia specialist will generate material for the web and other platforms, such as television and social media. They will create, develop, and deliver visually appealing and compelling multimedia programs.

To fulfil their responsibilities, they will work with a variety of communication teams and technical duties.

Reporting

The post will report directly to the Deputy Chief of Party/Performance Monitoring Specialist and collaborate closely with the Knowledge Management and Communications Specialist.

Distinguishing characteristics

The function requires the ability to conceptualize, develop, design, produce, edit, and/or direct media projects, as well as operate, maintain, and/or oversee media equipment, production, and/or distribution-related tasks.

This position is not designed to specialize in the installation, maintenance, and repair of photography, audio, video, lighting, and other related equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Takes professional photographs in a studio or on location.
  • Films, records, edits, captions, and shares live audio, video, and images.
  • Uses and modifies stock videos for appropriate applications.
  • Develops animations and infographics for USAID initiatives.
  • Independently organizes picture projects for the multimedia production team.
  • Organizes digitalization and archiving projects.
  • Schedules, shoots, edits, and provides official agency headshots.
  • Collaborates with various teams and bureaus on photo assignments.
  • Creates picture campaigns for various objectives.
  • Coordinates photo projects and ensures that photo information is accurately recorded in
  • Agency digital asset management systems.
  • Assesses and chooses images for publication and dissemination.
  • Produces, directs, records, and edits video productions, which include planning, scripting, footage capture, and graphic and interactive media design.
  • Maintains audiovisual media libraries and catalogues.
  • Works under limited supervision, with plenty of room for initiative and autonomous judgment.
  • Coordinates the creation and dissemination of audio/video metrics analyses for each project and across the multimedia production team portfolio.
  • Support event logistics, marketing, and communications for events, roundtables, and learning exchanges with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Help fellow MEL Platform and USAID colleagues with their work in photography, videography, and document formatting.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.

Required Skill or Experience

  • Experience and education can be exchanged for each other.
  • A minimum of four years of editorial, graphic design, and audio/video production experience is necessary.
  • A minimum of four years of experience with Adobe Creative Suite (including Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Express, and Adobe Premiere), Final Cut Pro, or other digital audio, video, and still photo editing platforms, as well as knowledge of Canva or other social media authoring tools, is required.
  • Experience supporting events for USAID and/or other international agencies is preferred.
  • Experience in page layout, photo/video editing, type formatting, and electronic file preparation.
  • A degree or qualification in the relevant discipline.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of graphic design principles, still and video photography techniques, as well as production methodologies and procedures.
    Skill in graphic design and special effects, as well as photo, audio, and video editing.
  • The ability to create communication outreach goods such as flyers in order to communicate successfully.
  • Ability to provide USAID partners with direction on graphic design, photography, and videography as needed.
  • The person must be well-organized, a self-starter, and capable of working in a multicultural environment.
