ROLE: Tax Staff (Graduate Tax Trainee)

Job purpose

As a Tax Trainee, you will work on different tax engagements in different industries where EY is known as a market leader, such as financial services, energy and utilities, oil, and gas, mining and metals, telecommunications, industrial products, automotive, retail and consumer products, real estate, etc.

Your client tasks

• Prepare different tax forms and schedules that go with them, and help file the returns.
• Make tax recommendations for clients and help them get tax deductions and waivers.
• Communicate with the GRA on clients’ behalf
• Work well as a member of a team, sharing responsibility, giving support, keeping in touch, and keeping senior team members up to date on success.
• Develop and keep working relationships with client staff that are effective.
• Follow the steps for risk management
• Build strong ties within the business tax compliance team and with other service lines.

Qualifications

• First degree from a college or university that is recognized;
• Hold at least a Second Class Upper;
• Excellent written and spoken English skills (another language is a plus);
• IT skills (Word, Excel, and Power Point) that are up to par;
• A student member or partner of the ICAG/ACCA OR a strong desire and motivation to become a qualified accountant. Being a member of ICAG/ACCA is a plus.
