ROLE TITLE: A Driver – Courier

About the company

The CNFA is a non-profit group based in Washington, D.C. Its goal is to boost economic growth in the agricultural sector by promoting entrepreneurship, private business, and market connections. CNFA focuses on getting the private sector to spend in training, new technologies, and marketing as a way to make agricultural value chains more competitive, increase exports, and improve the skills of the rural workforce.

The CNFA helps smallholders increase food security and nutrition at the household level by improving agricultural practices, introducing new crop varieties, diversifying crop production, preserving and storing food, building farmer organizations, and making it easier for farmers to connect with markets.

Job Description

PRO-Cashew Project: The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is paying for the PRO-Cashew project, which is being run by CNFA. The project will last for five years. The PRO-Cashew project will help improve the competitiveness of West African producers by making production and trade more efficient and better, and by making trade and investment policies in the area more consistent.

By doing this, the project will increase the capacity of producers and come up with incentives to renovate and fix up cashew farms. This will increase output and quality and make West African raw cashew nuts more competitive on the international market.

CNFA is looking for people to fill the following positions: A Driver – Courier

Responsibilities

The driver’s job, which is overseen by the Accountant and the Administration Officer, is to:

• Drive the government car that was given to him.
• Make sure that the car he was given is in good shape.

Using the government car that was given to him:

• Drive carefully and safely, and follow the rules of the road (Highway Code).
• Then, Check that the car and its parts are up-to-date and in line with the laws of the country, and if you need to, tell the Data Controller.
• Do the project races, collect and spread mail or other documents, and, if necessary, take care of some administrative tasks.
• Also, Make sure that Office workers can travel on official trips.
• Staff and official guests will be greeted at the airport, and if needed, formalities for immigration, police, and customs will be taken care of.
• In case of an accident, make sure that all the steps required by the rules are taken.
• In the car tracking sheet, you can keep track of official travel, daily mileage, fuel use, oil checks, lubrication, and other things.
• Finally, Keep the car tracking sheets up to date and get your boss to stamp them.

Make sure the car it’s in charge of is in good shape:

• Keep the outside and the inside of the car clean at all times.
• Check the oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc. every day on the car he is in charge of.
• Tell your boss about times when you need to do regular upkeep and repairs.

Skills or Experience Needed

• Possess a valid B, C, or D card
• Experiences at least through high school
• At least 8 years of work experience as a driver, with at least 5 of those years ideally spent in an international organization.

Skills

• Know how Ghana’s roads work.
• Be friendly and quiet.
• Ability to work with schedules and get things done by showing initiative, energy, and proactivity.
• Know how to fill out the logbook or tracking sheets.
• Know a lot about how things work.
• Strong skills in writing and talking to people
• Be able to travel around the country often.
