We are grateful for the kindness of our contributors and are honored to support our patients, families, and communities.

Encouraging an anti-racist atmosphere and denouncing prejudice in our work and caregiving are important to us. We are located in Mi’kma’ki, the traditional and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. We have the privilege of working in Mi’kma’ki and providing care to people throughout Atlantic Canada, just like the original people who inhabited this area for tens of thousands of years before colonialism.

We have the greatest percentage of disabled persons in the nation. Compared to other provinces or territories in the nation, Nova Scotia has the largest percentage of transgender and non-binary individuals.

We are active in our efforts to abolish prejudice, but we must do more to establish trust, recognize our biases, and reduce the challenges experienced by our varied populations. For the care we give and the jobs we offer, we want IWK Health to be a secure, friendly, and inclusive place.

To help us achieve our goal of having a workforce that is representative of the patients, families, and communities we serve at all job levels, we encourage all applicants who self-identify as Indigenous, Black, or African Nova Scotians, Persons of Color, Immigrants or Newcomers, Persons with Disabilities, or 2SLGBTQIA+.
