POSITION: Regional Logistics Officer
Key Responsibilities
- Help and keep an eye on the implementation of last mile distribution (LMD) in the region, and offer technical help for the implementation of a standardized framework, including jobs related to figuring out the volume of goods, as part of the LMD initiative.
- Give the RHA and RMS technical help with supply chain management to support efforts to improve lower-level health systems. This can be done by sending regular targeted supportive supervision to districts and service delivery points.
- Help the RMSs and health facilities make and send accurate and on-time inventory and stock status reports that include key suggestions to Programs (NACP, NMCP, FHD, TB) and selected regional and central level stakeholders. Also, follow up with the Programs and authorities at the central level to give comments on the reports sent to the RMSs and the right health facilities.
- Help get the Ghana Integrated Logistics Management Information System (GhiLMIS) up and running by doing the following:
- Help and make sure that data from Health Facilities for On-Boarding is collected, checked, and put together.
- Work with the RMS manager and the regional GhiLMS team to make sure the RMS and service delivery points (SDPs) on the system make the best use of GhiLMIS.
- Work closely with the RMS Manager and program managers at the regional level to get orders for program supplies from the central level.
- Make sure the system generates the reports needed to help managers make decisions.
- Provide end-users with on-the-job training and help to make sure that the system is easy to use and address any major concerns that users may have.
- Help the GhiLMIS help desk with triaging, troubleshooting, and solving simple problems.
- Support and make sure a regional-level supply chain coordinating group works, and help the committee hold regular meetings
- Take part in forecasting, estimating, and planning the purchase of health goods
Needed Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in a field linked to health, the supply chain, or business.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in supply chain management, including managing orders, inventory, warehousing/storage, and distributing products.
- The ability to look at data, report on it, and show it.
- Know a lot about Ghana’s Public Health Value Chain.
- They have good speaking skills and can run meetings.
- Creativity and a desire to help other people.
- Excellent skills in diplomacy, working with other people, communicating, and giving presentations.
- You need to be able to work on your own or with a group.
- They must be able to learn and help technologies that change quickly and are new.
- Be able to work well under stress.
- Must know how to speak and write English well.
Location: Accra and the Upper West Region
