Job Title: Senior IT Technician
The Senior IT Technician at Wisconsin International University College’s Accra Campus is responsible for providing advanced technical support, maintaining the university’s IT systems, and ensuring the smooth operation of all ICT-related operations. This critical function requires a seasoned expert capable of addressing complex difficulties, supervising technological infrastructure, and leading the IT support team.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated expertise and aptitude in the assigned responsibilities
- A bachelor’s degree in computer technology or a similar discipline, or at least three years of experience in technology-related employment in education or other comparable sectors.
- The ability to form and maintain strong connections with faculty, students, and staff while resolving technical issues.
Performance responsibilities
- Install and maintain the campus’ computer network infrastructure.
- Maintaining and overseeing academic and administrative computer hardware
- Manage computer peripherals such as printers, interactive whiteboards, PA systems, and projectors.
- Monitor computer management software and hardware, such as antivirus, firewalls, and network monitoring systems.
- Providing ongoing technical support for academic and administrative computer hardware and system software.
- Implemented procedures for inventory management and computer hardware tracking.
- Participation in the preparation and implementation of staff training sessions on the correct care and use of campus computer systems and related gear.
- Carry out other computer technology-related activities as delegated by the Director of the ICT Directorate.
