Business Systems Specialist at AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited
AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited’s Obuasi Gold Mine is almost done with the redevelopment phase, which will make it more modern, efficient, and long-term profitability. The underground mining operation is fully automated and is set up to mine an average of 5,000 t of ore per day.
We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Business Systems Specialist to join our hardworking team.
ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT
The goal of this job is to manage the AGAG suite of computer applications and plan and coordinate the processes and activities related to the development, delivery, and integration of software programs, applications, and third-party solutions as needed to meet the business’s needs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Manage all of the needs for programming and make sure that any changes or new projects are well planned and designed.
- Follow the controls and procedures for change management that are written down.
- Help with the design, testing, and implementation of new applications and changes or additions to existing ones. This includes finding problems and suggesting solutions.
- Make sure that applications built in-house can be changed to meet future needs.
- Help people set up and configure their applications. Users should get accurate reports when they ask for them.
- Administer AGAG intranet.
- Take part in process automation projects in a full way.
- Manage the database technology and the schemas that go with it so that the organization’s structured data can be accessed in a safe, efficient, and effective way.
- This includes tuning and monitoring performance.
- Show leadership in safety and improve the IT department’s culture in terms of safety, health, and sustainable development, as well as meeting environmental standards.
- Responsible and answerable for their team’s environmental responsibilities and performance.
- They do this by holding informal meetings with their team and telling them about any flaws in the way things are done for the environment.
- Follow all of the environmental work rules that the Departmental Manager has given you.
- Look into all environmental problems in the areas where they work. As soon as an incident happens, fill out an incident report form and give it to the Departmental Manager.
- The Departmental Manager will then give it to the Environmental Manager or his representative.
- On the incident report form, there should be a preliminary investigation report and any suggestions for how to stop the same thing from happening again.
- Go to all of the scheduled and assigned training meetings for the environment.
- Act on all suggestions and complaints from employees about the environment.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Qualification
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience
At least four years of experience analyzing, designing, and programming systems.
Skills
- Knowledge and experience with many different kinds of software.
- Then, Web design experience and knowledge of how Microsoft SharePoint works and how to run workflows
- Nintex forms and workflows Microsoft Forms, Power Apps, and Flow
- Data warehousing and database management (Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL)
- Also, Languages for making programs (C#, VB, and Python)
- Languages for coding (CSS, HTML, asp.net, javascript)
- Strong working experience with reporting tools like Power BI, SQL Server Reporting
- Services, Crystal Reports, and Microsoft Access
- It’s a plus if you know how to use the SAP ERP system.
