Job Title: Head of Investment Banking – Ghana

Summary of Position:

The Head of Investment Banking will be in charge of managing and developing the Investment Banking division’s strategic direction. This executive leadership position will entail establishing and implementing strategies to increase market presence, build and maintain strong client relationships, and provide superior financial services in the investment banking domain.

Responsibilities:

Strategy Creation and Implementation:

• Create and implement a comprehensive and innovative investment banking strategy that is in line with the bank’s overall goals.
• Ensure that strategic initiatives are effectively implemented in order to meet growth and profitability targets.

Team Management:

• Create, lead, and create a high-performing investment banking team.
• Encourage a culture of cooperation, excellence, and lifelong learning.

Management of Client Relationships:

• Build solid relationships with major clients, institutional investors, and other stakeholders.
• Identify and capitalize on prospects for business growth.

Management of Risk:

• Implement strong risk management measures to protect the bank’s interests and maintain regulatory compliance.

Financial Results:

• Increase revenue and profitability in the investment banking division.
• Analyze financial data, monitor financial performance, and make data-driven decisions.

Regulatory and Compliance Oversight:

• Ensure that all investment banking activities are in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
• Keep up-to-date on industry developments and new rules so that you can adjust your plans properly.

Market Trends and Analysis:

• Keep up-to-date on global and local economic and market situations.
• Make informed investment decisions and forecast market trends by utilizing market insights.

Reporting and communication:

• Report on the division’s performance, strategies, and problems to the Board of Directors on a regular basis.
• Maintain an open and transparent dialogue with all stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 15 years of experience in investment banking or a comparable sector is required.
• Proven senior leadership experience in the investment banking sector
• In-depth understanding of Ghana’s financial industry and regulatory structure.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Master’s degree (recommended) in finance, business, or a similar profession
• Professional credentials in relevant fields (e.g., CFA, MBA) are advantageous.
