POSITION: Finance Officer

Location: Accra is the duty station for the Finance Officer.
Position Description
The Finance Officer will assist with financial bookkeeping, reconciliations, financial activity analysis, assuring compliance with accounting and regulatory standards, and budget preparations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the maintenance and examination of financial records.
- Assist in ensuring that accounting and tax regulations are followed.
- Analyze financial data to aid in company decisions.
- Help with business account management and financial statement preparation.
- Manage and account for petty funds in the office.
- Help with the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare accounting vouchers and pay bills.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements and reconcile banking activities.
- Accounts payable and receivable must be reconciled.
- Ensures that bank payments are made on time, while also leading correspondence to handle all relevant difficulties.
- Maintains financial data confidentiality and performs database backups as needed.
- Calculates taxes and prepares tax returns while adhering to financial policies and regulations.
- Assists in the processing of payment requests and the maintenance of project financial transactions in compliance with the financial needs of the organization.
- Responsible for maintaining accounting controls by developing and recommending rules and procedures.
- Prepare multiple schedules and enter daily, weekly, and voucher data into the accounting system of the company.
- Maintains consumer trust and protects operations by keeping financial information private.
Required Qualifications or Experience
EXPERIENCE (Including industry/sector):
- A first-year degree or its equivalent in Accounting/Finance or a related field is required.
- A minimum of three years post-qualification accounting/finance experience in the financial services business is required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, BoG ORASS, and T24 software.
- An extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel will be advantageous.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCE:
- Accounting principles knowledge and competency.
- Management system expertise.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (both written and spoken).
- Good team player with strong leadership qualities.
- MS Excel and other accounting software proficiency.
- Planning and organizational abilities are required.
- Professionalism, maturity, and discretion are all required.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Well-organized, with the ability to act professionally and ethically; the ability and
- willingness to accept responsibility
- A strong sense of honesty, dependability, and accuracy
- Ability to work under duress.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
- Accounting/Banking and Finance/Related Disciplines Degree Concentration / Major Degree Accounting
PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION
- A professional certificate or postgraduate degree in accounting or finance will be advantageous.
