The African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET) is a think tank for economic policy that helps Africa grow in the long run by changing things. We do research, give policy advice, and get people to take action to help African countries grow their economies, get rid of poverty, and improve people’s lives. • Job Title: Digital and Creative Lead 
• Reports to: Knowledge Manager Location: Accra, Ghana or remote

Summary of the Job:

The Digital and Creative Lead will work closely with the Communications Team to create and implement ACET’s long-term digital and creative strategy.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Digital and Creative Lead will do the following:

• Build on ACET’s past digital successes and work with the Digital Communications Coordinator and the ACET Communications Team to come up with a forward-looking and influence-focused digital strategy.
• Assess ACET’s current digital landscape and suggest ways for it to grow and improve, such as making it easier for audiences to get involved.
• Working closely with the Digital Communications Coordinator, give advice on and keep an eye on the posts that go out on ACET’s different channels.
• Lead creative projects at ACET, such as documentaries, videos, animations, photographs, and other forms of art.
• Plan creative projects and digital campaigns for the next 12 months.
• Oversee the hiring of contractors and consultants and make sure they do a good job and get paid on time.
• Create digital partnerships with important organizations in Africa and elsewhere
• Work closely with the Content Lead and Digital Communications Coordinator to find ways for ACET to translate its policy findings using new multimedia tools to reach a wider audience and gain traction.
• As needed, give advice to senior management on the best ways to use their personal and professional social media accounts, and help them grow their presence and engagement where necessary.
• Keep up with current events and breaking news online, and work with the Communications Manager and Knowledge Manager to join the conversation when it’s appropriate.
• Work closely with other members of the Communications Team to create strong digital campaigns that spread the messages of the institution.
• Make sure that events and meetings that ACET hosts or works on with other groups have strong and appropriate digital coverage.
• Any other tasks that might be given from time to time to help ACET reach its goals in the areas of communications, advocacy, resource mobilization, and partnerships.

The Skilled Person’s Education and/or Experience

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, digital media, multimedia, public policy, international affairs, or a related field
• 7 or more years of experience working with digital and multimedia, with a focus on international development, policy, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Excellent writing skills and an eye for detail
• Creative thinking and the ability to think outside the box. Knowledge of digital trends and multimedia/creative tools.
• Ability to work on your own and contribute to a growing team
• Ability to handle multiple projects and set priorities as needed. Quickly learn about a subject to be able to give good advice.
