Position Description

The post is permanent and based in our Accra headquarters.
What will your responsibilities be?
The Database Management Expert will provide comprehensive life-cycle database support for our core banking system and applications, reporting to the Chief Information Technology Officer. Maintaining databases when applicable, doing daily basic activities, and conducting tests in support of the institution’s Head Office and branches.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administration of the Amplitude CORE Banking SYSTEM
- IT Startup Training
- Help Desk for AMPLITUDE and AIR+ Solutions
GENERALLY APPLIED ACTIVITIES
- Create an application that integrates with the underlying banking solution.
- Identifying flaws in the institution’s current systems, processes, and methodologies.
- Providing assistance to many departments by automating bank processes and duties.
- Giving advice, direction, and experience in the development of software solutions for the institution.
- Ensure that the development stream is thoroughly discussed in the daily stand-up meeting.
- To guarantee that existing programs provide a better user experience.
- Management and development of an existing platform in Operations.
- Collaboration with other SGBD Experts, Data Analysts, and Business Analysts to automate the development of existing/new reports.
- To be in charge of developing intelligent front-end and data analytic solutions in accordance with company requirements.
- Database configuration and upkeep.
- Administrative activities at their most basic.
- Report creation and testing.
- Writing and updating of tests and IT procedures.
- Provide new employees with onboarding training.
- Keep a list of issues and track their resolution.
- Other databases and apps must be maintained.
- Provide new SGBD Experts with training.
CHALLENGES
- The Help Desk is constrained to staying in one location to answer calls and respond to numerous user demands.
- Time constraints for investigating and delivering a solution to assure business continuity.
Required Qualifications or Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is necessary. Relevant professional qualification(s) and certification(s) are preferred.
- 2 years of experience at a financial institution in IT / Banking System Support and Training.
- SQL programming experience of at least one year is required.
- Excellent at organization, prioritization, and multitasking.
