POSITION: Field Officer

Company Profile

TRUST2PEACE is a five-year Conflict Mitigation and Prevention Activity financed by USAID-Ghana through cooperative agreement No. 72064122CA00003, with the University of Maryland – Center for International Development and Conflict Management (UMD-CIDCM) serving as the principal awardee. Other consortium members include WANEP-Ghana, Norsaac, and Washington State University. The Activity’s goal is to strengthen social cohesion among communities in Northern Ghana in order to avoid the spread of violent extremism.

Job Description.

  • Locations: Sawla, Yendi, Fufulso, Karaga, Bunkpurugu, Fumbisi, Navrongo, Bolgatanga, Wa and Lambussie.
  • Reporting: Project Coordinator is the reporting relationship, while Community Volunteers serve as supervisors.

The Field Officer is designated as support staff for the Activity and is responsible for the effective implementation of all activity initiatives in coordination with all sub-awardees.

Responsibilities

  • Assistance in planning, mobilizing, and carrying out district and community-level activities
  • Serve as a key point of contact for collecting important data for project tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Mobilize and facilitate weekly empowerment events for women and youth.
  • Assist the MEL Team in conducting monitoring visits.
  • Ensure that all project statements at the district and community levels are used in compliance with donor policies and standards.
  • Participate in outreach initiatives with district agencies and produce regular reports.
  • Participate in developing partnerships with other CSOs and NGOs at the district and community levels.
  • Represent the project at district and community-level activities.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Required Skill or Experience

  • Be experienced in motivating community members to participate in project activities.
  • Be a resident of the aforementioned locations or at least their corresponding districts.
  • Be proficient in speaking the dialect of a selected location.
  • A minimal educational qualification is a degree from any accredited university.
  • Have at least one year of experience in the NGO sector.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient in communication and attention to detail, with a track record of maintaining confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive material.
  • Ability to ride a motorcycle in tough terrains.
  • Be proactive, dependable, and capable of working alone and collaboratively as part of a team.
