2023 University of Waikato International Excellence Scholarships (NEW ZEALAND)

International Excellence Scholarship applications are now being accepted by the University of Waikato. Students who are enrolling for the first time in undergraduate or graduate programs at the University of Waikato are eligible for these scholarships.

Once the borders have reopened, a travel grant and a 20% tuition price discount will be automatically given to all new international students who desire to begin their studies online in 2023.

Eligibility Requirements

The applicants must fulfill each of the requirements below in order to be eligible:

• Prior to beginning any studies through UOW, you must be applying to enroll for the first time in either an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University of Waikato;
• You must also have met the English language requirements for admission at the University of Waikato or have received an offer for the Certificate of Attainment in Academic English at the University of Waikato.
• Have a minimum GPA equivalent of B+ and have received a conditional or unconditional offer of admission from the University of Waikato.

SCHOLARSHIP COVERAGE

Once the recipient has completed their enrollment, the scholarship, which may be worth up to NZD$ 15,000, will be directly paid to their tuition costs for the program(s) of study of their choice.

Supporting Records

• The applicants must include the following documents with their application: a) a personal statement that outlines the following; and b) their Conditional or Formal Offer of Place from the University of Waikato.
• Tell us why you want to attend the University of Waikato in 100 words or less.
• Tell us in no more than 100 words how you plan to represent the University of Waikato internationally.

Language prerequisite:

• Students must show that they can communicate clearly in both written and spoken English.
