$2500 Bow Seat Fellowship Grant Program 2023
Bow Seat would like to encourage you to take part in the Fellowship Grant Program if you have an interest in addressing environmental concerns and a desire to make a positive impact in your community. The Future Blue Youth Council (FBYC), a varied collection of Bow Seat alumni working together to empower their peers to advocate for a healthy, sustainable, and equitable future, is the organization that conceived of and is in charge of the Fellowship.
The Fellowship Grant Program offers youth leaders guidance and financing of up to $2,500 USD to assist them in the development of initiatives that will help mitigate environmental issues that are prevalent in their communities.

Eligibility
Who Is Allowed to Enter
- Young individuals around the world aged 13 to 22 are eligible to apply for this program; however, the application must be written in English.
- It is possible that you will need to provide evidence of your age, identity, or eligibility.
- Applications may be filed by a single person or by an unlimited number of people submitting as a group. Each group is responsible for choosing a single representative to function as the principal point of contact.
- Each student is allowed to submit only a single application. Students are welcome to enter their work into additional contests hosted by Bow Seat, such as the Ocean Awareness Contest.
The Selection, as well as the Disclaimers
- The decisions made by the members of the selection committee are final.
- Each application will be judged according to how successful the project is:
- demonstrates an understanding of the issue; demonstrates thoughtfulness in its approach;
- demonstrates that its aims are feasible, and are likely to result in demonstrable impacts.
- Aligns with the goals of the Fellowship Grant Program.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the issue.
- Is thoughtful in its approach.
- Is realistic in its goals.
- Is likely to result in measurable impacts.
- Bow Seat will send an email to the selected grantees as well as any adult supporters they have before making the announcement to the general audience.
- Within five (5) business days after attempted notification, grantees will be asked to verify their eligibility by completing, signing, and returning an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release and, where lawful,
- Publicity Release. This must be done in order to meet the eligibility requirements.
- Parents or guardians must sign and complete the Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release and Publicity Release for recipients under 18.
- Grant recipients must communicate regularly with their Future Blue Youth Council mentors and the Bow Seat team, respond quickly to inquiries, and participate in virtual check-in sessions when requested.
- Grantees must write a blog post and submit quarterly reports detailing project updates, successes, major learnings, and expenses.
- Bow Seat and the Future Blue Youth Council may use student work in any media for marketing and promotion.
- Bow Seat and the Future Blue Youth Council will administer the Fellowship Grant Program ethically and fairly.
Benefits:
- Funding for environmental initiatives will be provided in the form of grants of up to $2500 USD each to those fellows who are selected.
- Access to a community consisting of other grantees for the purpose of networking.
- Mentoring: the Future Blue Youth Council will provide fellows with guidance and assistance in the form of mentoring.
Procedure for making applications:
Applications are taken on a rolling basis, and individuals who are interested in applying are asked to fill out the online application form.
Within about one month of receiving your application, the selection committee will analyze your application, conduct interviews (if necessary), and make final judgments.
