Job Title: Senior Level Administrative
Dean of the School of Agriculture The University of Ghana hereby seeks applications from adequately qualified individuals for the position of Dean, School of Agriculture, College of Basic and Applied Sciences, with effect from August 1, 2024.

Objectives
The College of Basic and Applied Sciences has the following objectives:
shall advance the objectives of each of its constituent units and, through these specific aims, too:
- Objective Create world-class scientists to satisfy national and global development needs through excellent teaching, learning, research, innovation, and extension.
- Increase staff capacity through structured development activities.
- Improve staff research capacity to boost teaching and publication production.
- Create effective methods for public interaction.
- Foster an inviting environment for teaching, research, and student learning experiences.
The School of Agriculture is composed of the following Departments and Centres:
Departments include Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, Agricultural Extension, Animal Science, Crop Science, Family and Consumer Sciences, Soil Science, Forest and Horticultural Crop Research Centre (FOHCREC), Livestock and Poultry Research Centre (LIPREC), and Soil and Irrigation Research Centre (SIREC).
DUTIES
- The Dean leads the School and promotes efficiency and good order in accordance with University policies and procedures, as determined by the Council, Academic Board, and School Management Committee.
- The Dean ensures that approved programs and functions are carried out by School members.

QUALIFICATIONS
Successful candidates must:
- be a professor from an academic or research institution or an industry professional qualified for the post.
- be able to provide academic leadership, particularly in terms of teaching, research, and extension in the respective fields.
- demonstrate management and administrative leadership and the ability to foster a collaborative working environment at the school.
- demonstrate the ability to seek money for research and development.
- Have the vision and determination to manage the school’s growth and development.
TENURE
A Dean shall occupy office for three years under terms and conditions proposed by the Appointments Board, and is eligible for reappointment for another three-year term.
Location: Accra.
