UK GREAT Scholarships: Guildhall School of Music & Drama Scholarship 2024

Three scholarships are available for students from Mexico and India, thanks to our collaboration with the GREAT Britain Campaign and the British Council.

In collaboration with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, Guildhall School of Music & Drama is offering three scholarships to students from Mexico and India who are applying to our postgraduate program, MA Collaborative Performance Making.

To provide postgraduate students from Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam with access to top-notch higher education opportunities in the UK, the British Council and 72 UK universities launched the GREAT Scholarships 2024 program.

The scholarship program provides students pursuing a one-year postgraduate study in the UK with financial support of at least £10,000. The 72 universities located in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland accept applications from students for courses in a variety of subjects.

Through our online application site, candidates can apply directly to the school for our MA Collaborative Performance Making program. Check out the guidelines on the English language and course academic entry requirements to make sure you are prepared to submit before our application deadlines. Candidates wishing to start their studies with us in 2024 are eligible to apply for the following scholarships:

• Students from Mexico wishing to apply for an MA in Collaborative Performance Making are eligible to receive £10,000.
• £10,000: Indian students want to apply for two scholarships to the MA program in collaborative performance-making

Acting Funny

Comedy and humor for performers will be explored in this brand-new, six-week evening workshop. Attendees will acquire useful strategies for effectively highlighting the humorous aspects of their performance.

Acting in an Accent: General American

You will learn about the fundamentals and guidelines of working with an accent other than your own throughout this five-day course.

Acting Summer School for Ages 12–15

You will be able to enhance your talents and discover your inner creative self in a friendly, innovative, and enjoyable five-day session.

Acting Summer School for Ages 16–17

For actors ages 16 to 17, this two-week session provides an inspiring look at both traditional and modern actor training.

Acting Summer School for Ages 18+

This two-week workshop will explore the principles of acting in a supportive setting, giving you an insight into actor training.

Acting through Song

This course is perfect for modern performers, as it will teach you about acting through song and singing.

MA COLLABORATIVE PERFORMANCE MAKING COURSES

This one-year Master’s program aims to bring together early-career theatre practitioners to develop new theatre and performance work. These practitioners include:

• Stage Managers

• Set Designers & Scenographers
• Lighting Designers
• Costume Designers
• Sound Designers
• Video Designers
• Directors & Choreographers
• Writers & Dramaturgs

Students work together in creative teams on an exciting and varied array of theatre projects. The program is not intended to deliver core technical skills, but rather to develop your theatre-making abilities, explore your potential as a creative artist, and enable you to work with other students on a series of collaborative projects.

HOW TO APPLY?

The application period for 2024 is already open and ends on April 3, 2024. Upon being accepted for study, you can apply for the GREAT Scholarship. Note that applicants must be citizens of Mexico or India with valid passports.
