UBC Scholarships for International Students (2023)
For both domestic and foreign students in Canada, the University of British Columbia offers the four-year doctoral fellowship (4YF) program.
With the aid of this program, UBC is able to draw in top-notch domestic and international doctoral students and assist them while also giving them dependable, base-level funding for their coursework and research.
Information on UBC Scholarships
The University of British Columbia, one of the top universities in the world, encourages global citizenship, advances a just and sustainable society, and funds excellent research to benefit the people of British Columbia, Canada, and the rest of the world.
- Course Level: Fellowships are offered to students pursuing Ph.D. degrees.
- Fellowships are given out in every academic field the institution offers.
- For up to four years of their doctoral studies, they will receive a scholarship award of $18,200 each year plus tuition.

Eligibility
The following requirements must be satisfied by candidates in order to be considered for the scholarship:
Both domestic and foreign students are eligible to apply for four-year fellowships. The grants are often given to students starting their first year of Ph.D., DMA, or MDPhD study, though continuing students may also be eligible.
4YF financing may be provided for up to four years, however, in some cases, the length of funding may be less (please refer to the 4YF Guidelines for details). Funding is always contingent upon adequate academic advancement.

- CIHR Doctoral Research Awards
- NSERC Doctoral Postgraduate Scholarships (PGSD)
- SSHRC Doctoral Fellowships holders immediately qualify as 4YF designates.
The 4YF stipend and tuition support will be provided to doctoral students who receive Tri-Agency scholarships until four years after the start date of the external award or until the end of their fifth year in the doctoral program, whichever comes first, once their external scholarship funding expires.
Other significant external scholarship recipients who are chosen as 4YF designates may be eligible for 4YF tuition coverage and will receive 4YF stipend and tuition support once their external scholarship funding expires, until four years after the 4YF start date or until the end of their fifth year in a doctoral program, whichever occurs first.
Nationality: Both domestic and foreign students may submit applications for these scholarships.
