National Tsing Hua University is currently accepting applications for its bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree programs in a range of academic fields and specializations. Scholarships from National Tsing Hua University are offered to any international students from throughout the globe who want to study in Taiwan in the spring of 2024. Taiwanese colleges are giving out over 2,000 scholarships this year.

National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) was established in Taiwan in 1949.

Qualifications for NTHU Taiwan

  • Candidates have to be foreign students from nations other than Taiwan.
  • Candidates need to be in good physical and mental health.
  • Recipients of any other scholarships cannot be applicants simultaneously.
  • Applicants must accurately, truthfully, and completely complete the application form and send in any supporting documents the university specifies.
  • Candidates may apply to bachelor’s degree programs even if they only have a high school diploma.
  • Candidates can apply for Master’s degree programs if they have an undergraduate or bachelor’s degree.
  • Candidates for Ph.D. or doctoral degree programs may apply after earning a master’s degree.

The following National Tsing Hua University scholarships are open to all overseas students:

  • Scholarships for Foreign Students at NTHU

Monthly stipend for doctoral candidates: NTD 20,000–40,000.

Please refer to the “How to Apply” section for information regarding the GPA requirements and the annual renewal. (Available to applicants who are freshly admitted students.)

  • Students at the master’s level: NTD 5,000 per month or NTD 60,000 each year.
  • Candidates for bachelor’s degrees: NTD 5,000 per month or NTD 60,000 a year
  • Tuition and credit fee waivers

Documents Needed for Application

  • Online application
  • Official emblems are used to certify the Diploma of the Highest Degree.
  • Transcript
  • Two recommendation letters
  • Next, a passport
  • Study strategy: You can write your study plan in English or Chinese.
  • Certificate of Proficiency in English: Applicants may ask the university, department, or adviser to formally declare that “English is the medium of instruction at this institute” if their previous degree was made solely of English-taught courses.
  • Academic thesis or publication (for Ph.D. program candidates)

  • The TOEFL, GRE, and IELTS are not necessary, nor are acceptance letters.
  • The first step is to fill out an online application and upload all required files. To be considered, new applicants must check the box for “NTHU Scholarship” on the form.
