The Japanese University of Tokyo ADB Scholarship 2024 application session is now open. International students from ADB member nations may apply for this scholarship if they would like to study for a master’s degree at the prestigious University of Tokyo.
The ADB Scholarship is a prestigious program that is offered annually and grants more than 300 scholarships. It is fully funded and covers all costs for the 2024–2025 school year.
Through the ADB Scholarship program, the University of Tokyo offers students the chance to complete their Master’s degree in a wide range of academic subjects and concentrations. There is no need to apply for this scholarship; it will be awarded for two years.

Qualification Standards
- be a citizen of one of the countries listed above that qualifies for a Japanese ODA scholarship and an ADB borrowing member;
- not having two citizenships in any civilized country;
- have been accepted with honors into a master’s program authorized by a recognized university;
- hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and have a stellar academic background;
- Have at least two (2) years of full-time professional work experience, gained after earning a university degree, at the time of application. The candidate must be able to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, to continue their education.
- Unless the Japanese government expressly waives this condition in extraordinary circumstances, applicants cannot be older than 35 at the time of submission.
- agreement to finish program-funded studies and then work for at least two (2) years in one’s home country to support that nation’s growth;
- not currently enrolled in graduate programs.

How To Apply?
- Check your eligibility for the ADB-JSP
- Try to determine which faculty members are under your direction. Visit the GSFS website or the website of the relevant department to find a supervisor.
- The requirement to provide supporting documentation for ADB scholarship applicants will only apply if they are chosen as winners (mid-February). GSFS will propose individuals who have been successful and who, as of March, have properly completed all required paperwork to ADB.
- ADB-JSP notifies us in May of the results of the selection process.
- Admissions and immigration procedures (May to September)
- Secure a student visa for Japan and enroll at GSFS by the end of September. October 1st marks the start of the autumn semester.
