Special Skilled Worker Jobs in Japan 2024 – Quick Hiring

Before a visa was designated particularly for the importation of foreign workers, Japan developed the SSW visa. Then came skilled labor and trainee visas, but the government showed very little interest in them. As a result, even though there was a demand for Japanese institutions, many of them had trouble finding and hiring qualified Japanese-speaking employees.

Furthermore, foreign nationals find it difficult to get work in Japan. As a remedy, the government has introduced the SSW visa.

Advantages of an SSW Visa

The SSW program consists of two components.

  • Specific Skilled Worker (I)
  • Specific Skilled Worker (II)

Specific Skilled Worker (I)

This is a list of jobs in fourteen different fields so that anyone can easily become involved.

  • To be eligible for this visa, you must be older than 18. You should also be a candidate under SSW who has never worked in Japan.
  • The duration of this visa is five years. You will only get five years at a time, though. Next, depending on the job and firm size, the visa is granted for either four, six, or twelve months. The visa needs to be renewed before it expires. You can thus work in Japan for a maximum of five years.
  • The salary you get is the same as that of other Japanese employees.
  • You are not permitted to bring your family to Japan for the term of this visa.

These rules could, however, change in the future. There’s a claim that Japan needs to be able to draw in workers at the appropriate rate. It is impossible to forecast, though, how long these regulations will stand as is.

Specific Skilled Worker (II)

This visa is special since it can only be used in these two professions.

  • Construction business
  • Shipbuilding and ship equipment sectors

There is no maximum period for this visa. That means that as long as you have a job, you can renew your passport and stay in Japan. You can seek permanent residence in Japan even after ten years. You are also permitted to bring your spouse and kids to Japan as dependents. The spouse may also work up to 28 hours a week, even if it’s part-time.

Ultimately, the following costs have to be taken out of your income if you are coming to Japan to work under an SSW visa or any other type of visa. As a result, before you sign any contracts with a business, be sure you understand them completely.
