Shoprite Group Academic Bursary 2023
High-achieving students can now apply for the Shoprite Group’s comprehensive bursaries for the academic years 2023 and 2024 by filling out the online application.
The store invested more than R16 million in its bursary program in the most recent fiscal year, which supported 206 students. The Shoprite Group bursary applicants pay for both on-campus housing and tuition.

The Group is one of the top graduate employers in the nation and is the largest private sector employer in South Africa. The business received the Gradstar Students’ Choice Award for Retail Employer of Choice in 2022, which was given out via a student vote.
Students enrolling in degree programs in criminology, accounting, information technology, e-commerce, and retail business management are eligible for this program.
Eligibility equirements
The following prerequisites must be met by candidates in order to be eligible for Shoprite Group Bursary Applications for Academic Students:
- Applicants must be citizens of South Africa.
- Candidates must be younger than 27 years of age.
- Applicants must be Matriculated
- Applicants must be pursuing one of the following degrees: BCom 5. B.Acc. in Accounting (CA stream)
- Applicants must be PGDA or CTA students in their second, third, or fourth year of study.
- Candidates must have received an overall average of at least 65%.
- Applicants must have received a minimum grade of 65% in the fields of accounting, auditing, and taxation.
- Applicants must be enrolled in a postsecondary program at a recognized institution in South Africa.
