Before you even begin the application process, you need to make sure that you have studied the scheme notes for the particular round of the program for which you are applying in great detail. These scheme notes can be located at the top of each scheme page. They will always be current for the particular round that is open at the time they are accessed. All information on eligibility can be found in the scheme notes.

Send an email to grants@royalsociety.org if you have any questions about whether or not a certain program is open to applicants like you.

2. Ensure that the organization that will be hosting you is qualified.

I would like to present my award in the United Kingdom at a Higher Education Institute or a Research Council Institute.

All institutions of higher learning in the United Kingdom that are in receipt of grant funding from one of the United Kingdom’s higher education funding bodies are eligible to receive funding for research and other activities linked with research from the Royal Society. This includes the Research Council Institutes.

3. Provide us with your application materials

Your request for financial support must be made via the grants management platform that the Society uses, which is known as Flexi-Grant®. The scheme notes offer instructions on how to properly submit an application and how to take advantage of the Flexi-Grant® system. In the event that you encounter any kind of technical issue, please email grants@royalsociety.org.

On each scheme’s page, both the date and hour that the application deadline is will be given. Any applications that are submitted after the deadline will not be taken into consideration.
