Savannah Fruits Company (SFC) is looking for a dependable, inventive Plant Operator for our coconut processing operations in Half-Assini, Western Region. You will join our growing team of professionals and be in charge of managing the manufacture of coconut goods such as Virgin Coconut Oil and by-products, improving processes, controlling quality, and installing new production units in remote locations.

To succeed as a plant operator, you must be an independent thinker and a good problem solver. You will report to the production engineer and production manager, both of whom are headquartered in Tamale. As a result, you must be self-sufficient and eager to operate independently on a daily basis, as well as a competent communicator capable of sharing progress and reporting on production and difficulties.

The Savannah Fruits enterprise is a Ghanaian enterprise dedicated to the sustainable manufacture and export of high-quality, traditionally produced shea butter and other African natural goods such as virgin coconut oil, black soap, and baobab oil. The company provides high-quality ingredients to the international food and cosmetic sectors. We collaborate with local cooperatives to empower Ghanaian women in a sustainable and lucrative manner.

Responsibilities

• Supervising VCO production procedures to ensure quality work is completed in a safe and efficient manner.
• Operate all equipment on the current site.
• Optimize processes.
• Collaborating with other engineers to create plans that optimize productivity, costs, and labour requirements.
• Diagnosing production line issues and giving advice and training.
• Establishing safety processes and standards that prioritize worker well-being while also reducing the carbon footprint.
• Keeping up with technological and production improvements, as well as sharing expertise with coworkers.
• Identifying, recording, and reporting on harmful practices. Creating production schedules and budgets for projects.
• Organizing meetings with relevant departments and stakeholders.
• Analyse all aspects of production and make ideas for improvement.
• Obtaining whatever materials and equipment that are required.

Requirements & Desired Experience

• Degree in engineering.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated engineering experience.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• The ability to make decisions under pressure.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• The ability to work with minimal supervision in remote locations.

This full-time Plant Operator position is headquartered in Half-Assini, Western Region of Ghana, with the option of travelling to our different processing locations throughout the Western Region. The remuneration is competitive, based on experience and performance. We also provide perks such as a communications stipend, Tier 1 and 2 pension contributions, health insurance, and paid leave following a 6-month trial period.
