POSITION: Team Leader

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the technical oversight of the GPSCP II and ensuring the attainment of its goals, results, and deliverables, along with progress tracking and reporting to the client.
  • Guarantee effective project management focused on results, encompassing financial and administrative oversight, coordination, and guidance of grant committees, grantees, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Supervise and administer the program’s funding facility, encompassing the various fund cycle phases from the request for proposals to project execution and the fund closure.
  • Guarantee prompt and high-quality deliveries, while coordinating contributions from the technical and administrative program teams.
  • Offer strategic and conceptual direction, recommend adaptive actions when necessary, and take advantage of program opportunities to consistently enhance management and execution.
  • Actively participate in discussions and advancements related to policies.
  • Develop annual operational project plans through collaborative processes involving key project stakeholders, along with monthly work plans.
  • Proactively encourage synergies and align efforts with other initiatives supported by Switzerland and additional donors.

Necessary Qualifications and Experience

  • A university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, commerce, finance, economics, agronomy, or similar disciplines.
  • Over 7 years of experience as a Team Leader on international donor-funded projects, involving intricate management of partners and stakeholders.
  • A decade of experience in private sector development, economic advancement, and promoting a competitive and conducive business environment in Ghana, especially in agricultural value chains is preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Ghana’s political economy, policy formulation, environmental issues, and governmental procedures (experience collaborating with and networking among ministries, divisions, and agencies (MDAs) in Ghana is preferred)
  • Understanding of agricultural value chains and their main participants, including associations, SMEs, research, and training institutions in Ghana (with a focus on tree crops like cashew and palm oil), encompassing a strong grasp of sectoral opportunities and challenges, as well as the national and international policy landscape and its effects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing fund facilities for projects financed by international donors.
  • Understanding of social and environmental challenges and risks within applicable agricultural value chains in Ghana, along with demonstrated expertise in incorporating gender and social inclusion and integrating environmentally and climate-sensitive strategies in project methodologies.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Suite Programs.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities in English
