POSITION: Demi Chef de Partie (Bakery)

Assist the Chef de Partie in the preparation, presentation, storage, and serving of a variety of foods.

Principal Responsibilities

• In the absence of the Manager, hold shift briefings to ensure that hotel activities and operational requirements are understood.
• Prepare food, beverages, materials, and equipment for the service ahead of time.
• Prepare and serve items from the restaurant’s menu.
• Guide kitchen helpers such as Commis, Cooks, Kitchen Attendants, and Stewards.
• Clean and reorganize their workspace.
• Work with the superior and the People Services Manager to ensure that the department’s performance is productive. Conducting on-the-job training in compliance with departmental standards and procedures, as well as maintaining a record of progress for each staff member, are among the responsibilities.
• By business guidelines, provide advice for probation and formal performance review talks.
• Ensure that new employees attend Corporate Orientation within the first month of employment.
• Coaching, advising, and penalizing employees who violate hotel policies and departmental processes, as well as providing constructive criticism to improve performance.
• Preparing new staff induction programs and allowing adequate time for their implementation.
• Works with superiors to prepare and manage the department’s budget and is aware of financial targets.
• Collaborate with the supervisor and the human resources manager to guarantee that the departmental performance of the workforce is fruitful.
• Recycle whenever feasible and impose cost-cutting measures on employees.
• Keep track of security occurrences and accidents in compliance with hotel policies.

Expertise, Knowledge, and Skills

• Certificate or equivalent in gastronomic education (apprenticeship/diploma/BA/BSc)
  HACCP accreditation
• Bakery experience of at least two years is required.
• Ability to operate as part of a team, flourish under pressure in difficult situations, and devise proactive, sensible solutions
• Outstanding writing and verbal communication abilities
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities while maintaining a professional, confidential, and ethical demeanor at all times
• Ability to operate computer and office equipment in a safe, wise, and organized manner
• Excel and Word skills are advantageous.
