POSITION: Brewhouse Operator

GGBPLC operates from two locations in five beverage categories: Stout, Lager, RTD, Non-alcoholic Malt, and Mainstream spirits, as well as Spirits distribution.

GGBPLC is going through a big reform process, focusing on accountability, quality maintenance standards, supply planning, cost reduction, and efficiency. GGBPLC will develop its personnel and create an atmosphere that attracts and maintains the best people in accordance with its objectives.

As the Supply function, we will produce high-quality items in a safe environment, on time and on budget, with no faults.

Purpose of Role:

The brewing operator is a person who has operational knowledge of beer brewing, fermentation profiles, and Beer Membrane Filtration (BMF) plants. They will be in charge of ensuring that the KPIs for Wort production, Lager Yeast Management, Fermentation, BMF facility, and Beer Quality are met in accordance with CODEX and DWB standards, as well as safety, flavor, waste, and Excellence in Supply Chain (EISC) criteria.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of occupational health and safety standards. Declare and communicate frequently that safety is our top priority.
  • Be a transparent ambassador for safety by always behaving safely and always criticizing unsafe practices and behavior of others, reprimanding where warranted. Follow all site safety guidelines, as well as system and equipment operational procedures.
  • Shall be committed to creating safe and high-quality products by adhering to all Food Safety and Quality Management System guidelines.
  • Carry out all yeast management tasks, including yeast propagation and gyling, as well as update all fermentation charts and supervise beer processing to ensure the desired flavor profile is delivered.
  • Manage the brewing facility such that it produces the appropriate volume and quality every shift while reducing waste (cost).
  • Complete the appropriate short interval controls for the operation of the Brewing process plant and the Deaerated Liquor (DAL) plant, and keep fermentation charts fully updated at all times.
  • Increase monitoring and use short interval controls (SIC) to guarantee that DAL dissolved oxygen (DO) levels meet Codex criteria. With the assistance of Shift Brewing Managers, meet the production plan and key performance targets while maintaining agreed-upon customer service levels.
  • Participate in proficiency-based training programs and actively pursue individual and team training and development. Support the development of other team members and cultivate strong relationships with coworkers, including contractors.
  • Share and use newly gained skills, participate in developmental cleaning and PIPs to meet/exceed improvement goals. Consider general ways to improve work spaces.
  • Compile and comment on any reports that are required, whether they are original or generated automatically. Plant checklists, shift reports, and handover reports are examples of these.
  • Participate in team building and engagement initiatives at the departmental and site levels to provide a high engagement index and improve working methods.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Holder of a post-secondary qualification in a science-related field with demonstrated experience: HND/BSc. in Chemical Engineering, Science Laboratory Technology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Food Science and Technology is preferred.
  • Show a thorough awareness of the permit-to-work system as well as GGBPLC SHE policies, regulatory obligations, and duties.
  • Understand the ideas of teamwork, continuous improvement, preventative maintenance, and problem-solving.
  • Response to a shift in positive viewpoint in a variety of events or challenges
  • Positive attitude toward personal development; seeks chances to assist others in learning and developing.

  • Inability to perform in a tightly staffed manufacturing setting with variable output and sales demand.
  • Inability to pursue individual and team training and growth, as well as share and utilize new skills

  • Inadequate skill level to operate and maintain both new and old assets and technologies.
