POSITION: Internal Audit Manager
Job Description
The Internal Audit Manager reports to the Head of Internal Audit and is responsible for delving deep into company processes to find opportunities for improvement, leveraging your experience to optimize workflows, improve efficiency, and drive operational excellence at Affinity. The Internal Audit Manager adds to and protects the value of Affinity by providing risk-based and impartial assurance, counsel, and insight to business units. As required by a specialized deposit-taking institution, the person in this role also does independent audit evaluations on systems and controls to make Affinity’s governance and control processes more effective. They also carry out audit assignments in line with relevant policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Principal Responsibilities
- Assist the Internal Audit function in meeting the annual risk-based engagement strategy that has been authorized.
- Conduct thorough financial, operational, and compliance audits and generate timely reports.
- Examine the adequacy and efficacy of internal controls within Affinity’s functions and identify areas for improvement.
- Examine the adequacy of controls in place to ensure policy and procedural compliance.
- Show flexibility and accept responsibility for the completion of the risk-based annual engagement plan.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the business area and utilize that understanding to analyze risks and controls.
- Prioritize effectively to deliver on schedule, adjust to change swiftly, and support business ambitions.
- Show professional skepticism by bringing up and addressing difficult observations with the Head of Internal Audit and modifying their methods as needed.
- Ensure that audit fieldwork is done professionally and on schedule.
- Discuss audit results with process owners and agree on recommendations for improvement.
- For each audit engagement, prepare an audit report.
- Follow up on recommendations to ensure that effective corrective action is performed.
- Understand professional internal audit standards and implement the Internal Audit process consistently when performing audit work.

- Internal Audit Standards (IPPF) and methodology are well understood.
- Excellent MS Office and audit software skills
- Techniques for Analyzing and Quantifying
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Team player who works well with others
- Education and Professional Development
- A first-year degree from a recognized institution.
- A qualified professional with any of the following qualifications is required: CIA, CIMA,
- ICA (GH), ACCA, CISA, ACIB, CPA, and so on.
- Certifications like CISM, CISSP, ISO 27001, CEH, and CHFI are advantageous.
Desirable Experiential Opportunities
- At least three (3) years of auditing experience is required.
- Practical experience in financial, operational, and departmental auditing is required.
- Proven experience in developing Internal Audit Strategic Plans, Engagement Plans, and Work Plans.
- Experience in the financial services industry with a demonstrated track record is preferred.
- Investigation of Fraud Experience
- Exposure to digital forensics is advantageous.
- Exposure to cybersecurity is advantageous.
- Exposure to data protection is advantageous.
- An understanding of cloud security is advantageous.
- An understanding of information security is advantageous.
