Job Description.

A new inclusive school in Kumasi is looking for an ASSISTANT HEAD TEACHER.

We are looking for an early childhood teacher graduate with teaching experience who is eager to advance to a larger supervising role. The ideal applicant will collaborate closely with the principal and the rest of the management team to ensure the school achieves international quality standards.

This position necessitates exceptional communication skills, originality, proactivity, and a genuine interest in the overall development of young students.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that correspond with Ghanaian schools,
• International Quality Standards, and British Curriculum.
• Create engaging and interactive classes that address the various learning requirements of all pupils.
• Use a variety of instructional approaches and materials to help students comprehend and participate.
• Student and instructor evaluations:
• Regularly examine and evaluate student progress with suitable evaluation tools and methodologies.
• Regularly examine and evaluate teacher progress with suitable evaluation tools and procedures.
• Give helpful criticism to students and teachers on their academic performance and areas for growth.
• Keep accurate records of attendance, accomplishments, and assessment outcomes.
• Environment Management: Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment for effective learning.
• Create and enforce classroom rules and behavior standards to maintain a good and safe environment.
• Foster excellent relationships with parents/guardians and keep them informed about student development, achievements, and areas that require attention.
• Collaborate with colleagues, school officials, and support personnel to foster effective teamwork and a positive school environment.
• Attend parent-teacher conferences, school events, and meetings as required.
• Marketing and Promotional Enrollment
• Collaborate with the principal to market the school.
• Collaborate with the principal to promote the school.
• Collaborate with the principal to enroll new pupils at the school.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Early Childhood Education or a related profession.
• Teaching certification or certificate from a reputable university.
• Montessori certification or experience with the Montessori program.
• Proven experience teaching elementary school kids, ideally in a similar educational setting.
• Excellent knowledge of Ghanaian elementary schools, British curricula, and teaching methods.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required for productive interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Patience, inventiveness, and excitement for dealing with young students.
• The ability to efficiently manage a classroom, maintain discipline, and foster a healthy learning environment.
