POSITION: Senior Human Resource Officer

ROPEAK Limited is a multidisciplinary engineering, construction, and procurement company. We are dedicated to offering comprehensive and innovative solutions to complex engineering problems. The enterprise is based in Kenyasi, Ahafo Region. The Company seeks and provides chances for dynamic and intelligent individuals to join our exciting team as Senior Human Resource Officers.

Job Summary

  • As a Senior Human Resource Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing human resource functions to ensure that the workforce operates effectively and efficiently.
  • You will be in charge of implementing HR strategies, policies, and programs that are consistent with the company’s goals.
  • Your responsibilities will include talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and creating a pleasant and inclusive work environment inside the company.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Talent Acquisition:

  • Create and implement recruitment strategies to attract talented professionals and labor to projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers to understand staffing requirements and achieve timely hires.
  • Conduct interviews, evaluate prospects, and oversee the entire recruiting process.

2. Employee relations:

  • Proactively handle employee problems and grievances to preserve a pleasant workplace culture.
  • Implement staff engagement initiatives and events that promote a strong sense of community and teamwork.
  • Mediate and settle problems among employees or departments.
  • Improve communication between managers/department heads and staff.
  • Facilitate successful disciplinary proceedings.
  • Ensure an effective industrial relations atmosphere and a calm work environment.

3. Performance Management and Compensation:

  • Create and execute performance management systems to guarantee that personnel accomplish job objectives and contribute to project success.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive comments, and contribute to the formulation of performance improvement strategies.
  • Collaborate with project managers to align individual and team goals with organizational objectives.
  • Determine the appropriate employee remuneration based on a grading system.

4. Onboarding, Training & Development:

  • Develop and implement effective onboarding plans.
  • Identify training needs in the workforce and coordinate appropriate initiatives.
  • Provide opportunities for mentorship and training to help people advance their careers.
  • Work with external training providers to ensure employees obtain current industry-specific training.

5. Compliance & Legal:

  • Stay up to date on industry-specific labour rules and regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards, equitable employment opportunities, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with mining labour policies.

6. Benefit Administration:

  • Guide employees through benefit alternatives and assist with issue resolution.
  • Educate staff on company benefits and awards.

7. HR metrics and reporting:

  • Set up and manage HR metrics to assess the efficacy of HR programs.
  • Create reports on important HR KPIs and share insights for continual improvement.

8. Safety and wellness:

  • Foster a safe workplace culture by collaborating with the safety team.
  • Implement wellness initiatives to improve worker health and well-being.

9. Employee Data and Record Management:

  • Maintain and update employee records as appropriate.
  • Manage and preserve employee leave data (annual, sick, and maternity).

Other Duties

  • Performs any other allied duties as assigned by the Head of Administration.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience as an HR officer, administrator, or other HR role.
  • Understanding of HR functions (pay and benefits, recruitment, training and development, etc.).
  • Excellent dispute resolution management skills.
  • An understanding of labour legislation and disciplinary procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; understanding of HRMS is an advantage.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • BSc/BA in Business Administration with necessary HR credentials (e.g., PHRi, SPHRi, SHRM-CP, CIHRM).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position.
