ROLE: Maintenance Manager

Role Purpose:
The goal of this function is to supervise and manage mechanical operations to ensure that they are completed efficiently, safely, and on time.
Accountability / Results
- Effectively delegate any maintenance concerns to be fixed on each shift and small projects to the team members with the appropriate expertise, as well as planning and monitoring successful work.
- Create a Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure that all preventive maintenance is completed, plan for missing maintenance operations, and lead the team to deliver effectively.
- Make sure there is enough manpower, equipment, and spare parts for maintenance planning and execution.
- Ensure that the maintenance system is dynamic and always improving.
- Ensure that all systems implemented are standardized.
- Audit and assure engineering data system compliance.
- Maintain an appropriate stock of all machine spares.
- Plan internal and external work(s) while minimizing unplanned downtime and maximizing planned downtime.
- Ensure that all maintenance and production KPIs are on track.
- Act as a leader for the team members.
- Conduct facility inspections to detect and remedy problems.
- Oversee the routine testing of the factory’s electrical, hydraulic, and other forms of machinery to ensure functionality.
- Optimize equipment according to standard practice, improving performance and product quality while ensuring that all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met.
- Oversee the setup and teardown of various events.
- Ensure that routine calibration and maintenance of a variety of electromechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems are carried out.
- Establish explicit accountability for maintenance material expenditures, as well as a spending management approach.
- Manage system and equipment data storage while maintaining high standards and accuracy.
- Manage the process of introducing new machinery, plant, and equipment, from specification to supplier management to final installation in coordination with all relevant stakeholders.
- Provide technical expertise to the team 20. Create and implement maintenance schedules and strategies for periodic preventive maintenance on all equipment.
- Manage, coach, and build a high-performing Maintenance staff that fulfills agreed-upon goals while delivering best-practice results, additional value, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications Required:
Qualifications and Work Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or a similar subject is required.
- Experience in a similar capacity, ideally in the food production business, is required.
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems, equipment, and processes. Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Excellent understanding of food technology and the manufacturing process
- A proven track record of leading, managing, and/or overseeing a team.
Preferred abilities:
- Excellent team management and leadership skills, as well as the ability to encourage and guide a diverse team.
- Effective communication skills are required to communicate with a variety of stakeholders, such as team members, clients, and project managers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required to address technical difficulties and put effective solutions in place.
- A thorough awareness of safety standards and practices, as well as a dedication to creating a safe workplace.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities are required to manage multiple projects and achieve project deadlines.
- To ensure project quality and accuracy, pay close attention to detail.
- Proficiency in project management, documentation, and communication software and tools.
