What will you do?

The Customer Development Executive (CDE) contributes significantly to the Region’s profitable growth by:

Category Management.

  • Understands the strategic value of category management and promotes its use among key customers;
  • Has skill in interpreting and implementing the category management 8-step process.

Strategic and Creative Thought:

  • Takes the initiative to grasp emerging consumer and marketplace trends and their ramifications for categories, channels, and customers;
  • Considers regional problems as well as global needs.

Consumer/Shopper Understanding: 

  • Has a wide understanding of the consumer (attitudes, habits, and purchasing behaviour) for each channel;
  • Collaborates with consumer insight professionals to create company goals and specific research objectives before developing trade research programs.

Trade Understanding and Relationships: 

  • Adapts to rapid changes by tailoring how Colgate conducts business with customers through various channels;
  • Works to understand key customers’ objectives and priorities;
  • Understand the key factors driving change in the trade environment and the implications for both Colgate and its customers.

Cross-organizational relationships: 

  • Encourages collaborative planning and problem-solving across channels and categories;
  • Prioritizes what is important across functions, channels, categories, and geographies;
  • Encourages and personally develops positive working relationships with professionals in other departments, regionally, globally, and internationally.

Promotional Excellence: 

  • Helps local teams implement new and personalized trade promotions based on the client’s consumer and channel, and conducts post-analysis to learn from results;
  • Chooses inventive ways to leverage and spend trade money to drive customer performance and profitability.

Business and Global Perspectives: 

  • Stays current on external business developments and understands their potential impact on Colgate’s performance; applies cross-disciplinary knowledge to issues and opportunities;
  • Prioritizes profitability and cost options when making decisions;
  • Actively integrate external and internal best practices and trends.

Communication: 

  • Keeps individuals aware of plans, goals, and objectives;
  • Offers a clear grasp of job priorities and performance requirements;
  • Conveys ideas and concepts clearly and simply.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in Business Administration is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of FMCG experience in a similar capacity
  • Fluent English and local language skills
  • Valid driving license.
