POSITION: Security Supervisor

OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION 

The aim of this role is to:

  • Coordinate, oversee, and manage site security operations while providing suitable guidance.
  • Make certain that risks to personnel, assets, and business operations/activities at the site are accurately identified, assessed, and addressed promptly and efficiently.
  • Protect Unilever Ghana’s staff, properties, and assets from internal and external security threats, while also coordinating the efforts of third-party security contractors and supervisors.
  • Guarantee active involvement in the management of security solutions in Ghana.
  • Assist the Site Security Officer and the Market Security Leader in promoting Security Initiatives.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Inform the Security manager about any particular dangers to company staff and their families, resources and data, as well as business operations/activities as they arise.
  • Guaranteeing the enforcement of security policy, assessing all procedures, refreshing registers, and modifying them when needed.
  • Collaborate with the 3P security contractors to address all identified security risks throughout the site.
  • Creating and organizing suitable security training for security staff and other designated individuals.
  • Overseeing efficient inquiries into identified and communicated security breaches and incidents.
  • Keep a record of investigations and organize files for auditing.
  • Maintain accountability and accessibility of office and other door keys in case of emergencies.
  • Start and organize a prompt reaction to security incidents that pose a risk to Company staff and resources to guarantee reduced loss or harm. If needed, to address these threats personally.
  • Guarantee the safety and protection of employees while on Company grounds and during travel. Notify all relevant stakeholders about any incidents.
  • Collaborate with and cultivate connections with different Law Enforcement & Emergency Services during a security incident/emergency (e.g., fire, medical, mechanical failure) to guarantee prompt response to incidents.
  • Participate in PCRC monthly gatherings and provide meeting updates.
  • Guarantee the presence of well-trained security staff by conducting pre-deployment interviews to ensure that only qualified individuals are assigned to execute contingency plans effectively at Unilever Agbara by the 3P vendor.
  • Making certain that security reports are provided punctually and completely.
  • Ensure proper daily handovers between colleagues for efficient site oversight.
  • Oversee and execute transactions on all required reporting systems.
  • Take part in the monthly fire drill and issue the notification/report as needed.
  • Ensure ongoing collaboration between business controls and security measures to effectively reduce internal loss risks.
  • Diligently review all gate passes and associated security documents each day and distribute reports as necessary.
  • Make sure that Weekly and Monthly reports are sent out in the Weekly Ops Report every Friday at 09h00. Monthly Operations Report on the 31st of every month.

Experiences & Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Having relevant professional certification is an advantage.
  • At least 2 years in supervising Security
  • Outstanding understanding of the production procedure.
  • A strong history of efficiently leading, managing, and/or overseeing a team.

Skills Required

  • Outstanding leadership skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Managing multiple tasks while maintaining outstanding organizational abilities.
  • Exceptionally high level of computer proficiency.
  • Effective communicator (in both spoken and written forms).
  • Extremely driven with the capability to operate independently with little oversight.
  • Showed dedication to reaching both organizational and individual objectives.
  • Demonstrated capability to collaborate effectively in a team setting (colleagues, vendors, etc.).
