POSITION: Application Specialist
Description
Manage the resolution of application and system issues that develop throughout the organization. Respond to technical issues that may arise unexpectedly and require fast resolution to ensure that customers’ service promises are kept and business activities flow smoothly. Recommend and deploy digital solutions for improving business operations.
Responsibilities:
Support and Administration.
Responsible for the support and administration of applications and services used in the creation, management, and delivery of lending, banking, and support services.
Quality Control
- Understand in detail the business processes supported by each system.
- Maintain the production environments. This will encompass development, testing, and production systems. This work will be completed in collaboration with Group IT.
- Ensure that applications are maintained in a manner that enables service delivery across different platforms, robustness, and performance.
- Ensure the continuity of business processes supported by one or several applications/services.
- Ensure continuity and quality by taking ownership of cross-platform issue solutions. Tracking progress and escalate as needed until a resolution is obtained.
- Ensure that standards and rules are followed and maintained across all applications for administration, deployment, monitoring, and support.
- Perform routine risk and gap assessments on business application platforms, providing appropriate mitigation solutions and suggestions.
- Coordinate a periodic evaluation of user roles and permissions across all business application platforms to guarantee system function consistency, security, and integrity.
- Submit a business application report based on well-defined measurement metrics.
Problem-solving
- Identify application-related difficulties and propose acceptable solutions.
- Provide capacity planning, monitoring, and maintenance for the chosen system(s). Identifying trends or difficulties.
- Take ownership and coordinate application-related modifications.
Documentation
- Maintain up-to-date documentation.
- Coordinate and review.
- Coordinate business application platform improvements and management across product lines.
Qualification / Knowledge Required
- A bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or engineering
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Strong technical skills and practical knowledge in database management.
- Knowledge of Project Management
- Practical experience with application testing, release, and deployment.
- Practical experience with programming and digital automation
- A basic understanding of network and system administration will be beneficial.
- Experience using the IT ServiceDesk ticketing system.
- At least three years of relevant technical expertise
