Mechanical Technician at Guinness Ghana
Context/Scope:
GGBL has two locations and works in four types of drinks: stout, lager, ready-to-drink (RTD), and malt. They also sell spirits. The business is the biggest brewery in Ghana, with about 75% of the market share.
In a driven society, people want Ghana’s economy to keep growing at a rate of between 5% and 10%.
People in this area want to buy goods that are of the highest quality. There are also more people in the middle class, and they are likely to try out new goods.
GGBL is going through a big process of change, mostly in the areas of accountability, quality upkeep practices, planning for supplies, lowering costs, and increasing efficiency. In line with its goals, GGBL will help its employees grow and build a place where the best people want to work and stay.

Role Purpose:
- Manage the mechanical systems in his area of business and in other areas as needed to make sure that plant and equipment are safe, reliable, and working at their best.
- Responsible for doing Preventive Maintenance and letting people know what’s going on on the spot.
- The person in this job will have to come up with, support, and carry out specific plans to meet standards.
Accountabilities
- Always follow Diageo’s standards for health and safety, the environment, and food safety, and follow all laws and regulations. In charge of making sure work systems are safe.
- Alignment with the Safety and 5S MMS standards will help you keep your workplace safe and well-organized.
- Offer electrical and mechanical Asset Care Technicians to the Operations team.
- Responsible for making sure that all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules are carried out at the stated frequency and to the necessary standard.
- Help operators learn how to do maintenance jobs on their own, optimize how machines are set up, and support the growth of equipment capabilities as needed.
- As needed, help with the installation, testing, and launching of capital projects in the area. It is their job to give information to early device management.
- Use SAP to its fullest extent—SAP reporting and recording finish.
- Every week, look over RCM action.
- Understands and uses the tools and methods of MMS, which is good for MMS ITFs.
- Manage personal information in Workday, such as P4G and personal information (specific duties need to be made clear).
- Come to the SIC process and add to it. Do the paperwork for short-term control on tasks.
- Participate in meetings at the start of your shift and performance-based team meetings to talk about and fix performance problems that keep coming up.
- Takes part in asset care review talks once a week
- Think ahead and take a more proactive attitude.
- Help TLS and Operators build their asset care and RCPS skills.
- Attend all Tier 1 meetings, make suggestions for the schedule, and do what needs to be done.
Needed qualifications and experience
- Electrical or electronic engineering degree or an HND
- A track record of being able to do maintenance work in a place that makes food or drinks.
- Proven skills as a first-line leader

- Communication, networking, and persuasion skills
